About Us

Basic Examination -

The clinic is equipped with state of the art equipment for a comprehensive eye examination. These include Examination chair units, Topcon Slit Lamps (Japan) used for eye examination in high magnification, Topcon Auto Refractor (Japan) for computerised checking of eye power, Potec Auto Refractor Keratometer (Korea) for computerised corneal curvature measurements and refraction, Topcon Lensometer (Japan) for computerised spectacle number checking and  Applanation Tonometer (Haag Streit, Switzerland) for Intraocular pressure measurement.

Special Examinations -

Specular Microscope
The cornea remains transparent due to the innermost corneal layer called the endothelium. This vital layer can be photographed and analysed by the Topcon Specular Microscope from Japan. This is very useful for corneal evaluation before cataract surgery, diagnosis of corneal disease, for monitoring after a corneal transplant surgery and as a research tool.

Corneal Topography
Oculus Corneal Topography from Germany gives colour coded corneal curvature maps which are useful for diagnosis of keratoconus, monitoring progression of keratoconus, evaluation of corneal astigmatism before cataract surgery for Toric lens selection, for measurement of spherical corneal aberration in customised cataract surgery and for management of post corneal transplant astigmatism.

Corneal Pachymetry
The Quantel Pachymeter from France gives Corneal thickness measurement which is useful in corneal problems and glaucoma management.

Intraocular Power Measurement
The Quantel A scan unit from France is used for ocular biometric measurements for Intraocular lens power measurement prior to cataract surgery. It provides immersion scan based measurements which are the most accurate and also has the latest lens power calculation formulas.
